Childhood Obesity: How And When You Should Take Action!

Last Updated on January 31, 2020

1. What Causes Childhood Obesity?

Childhood obesity occurs due to many factors and one of the most common risks are the ones that mess with their health such as diabetes, liver diseases, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels, problems with the respiratory system (asthma), sleep apnea (trouble breathing while asleep), possible eating disorders and skin infections.

And don’t forget about the emotional effects of childhood obesity, even though we don’t pay much attention to these, they can really shape your kid’s life in a negative way. Some examples are:

• Being more prone to suffer from bullying but also more likely to bully others.
• Low self-esteem and antisocial disorder might lead to stress, anxiety, and depression.

Of course, no parent wants their kid to have these problems, but we also want to see our kid happy and never deny him or her from any food they might want to eat. However, when thinking about your kid you should consider their future and not only the present. Think that the actions you’re taking today are going to help them in the future, and they’ll thank you for it.
