#7 – Holding the baby under her/his armpits

The first thing you need to focus on when holding a baby is their tiny head. Newborns don’t have neck muscles to keep their heads up yet, so you need to put your hand under their neck to support the baby’s head.
Otherwise, the infant could make a sudden move that may lead to neck injuries or breathing difficulties.
Keep in mind that babies won’t be able to support their own heads until they’re at least six months old.
