This condition tends to frighten young moms when they notice it in their newborns. Many experts suggest that torticollis might be associated with the usage of vacuum devices during delivery or the incorrect position of the fetus while still in the womb.
The sternocleidomastoid muscle undergoes a lot of pressure, leading to its hyperextension.
Torticollis can be easy to notice as the baby would prefer to turn its head only to one side.
Fortunately, parents can address this problem at home. Simply place the baby on her/his belly and start stimulating them to turn their head to the other side.
