2. Slingshots
Like toy crossbows, this classic toy caused the injury and death of several children in the past. And there is no reason for it not to cause the same thing in this day and age, given that things like stones, rocks, and any other objects can still be used for this weapon toy. Blindness, broken teeth, head injury, fracture of the humerus, etc., have all been reported to be the cause of slingshot accidents. So, make sure that these toys are nowhere near your children. Some things are really better off staying in the past!
1. String hammocks
Though string hammocks are not toys, kids still treat them as exactly that. This summertime camping item can pose a serious danger if young kids get tangled in it. Since the string hammocks come without a spreader that keeps them open, there is the risk that kids may get strangled by it as they won’t be able to untangle themselves from it. If you have kids in your house or are planning to go camping with your kids, do not use string hammocks. Opt for a fabric hammock and have some peace of mind! Now that you know what toys are hazardous and should never be near your kids, make sure to get safe toys for your kids as a replacement. Parental neglect is usually the reason behind many harms that befall children, so be diligent!
