Childhood Obesity: How And When You Should Take Action!

2. So When Should You Take Action?

• He/she’s not doing the same things

The first sign that’s quite noticeable is when your kid stops doing what they would normally do. This can be as simple as playing football or tying their own shoe. Our weight affects our movement, flexibility, and resistance. So if you notice your kid is having trouble walking for a normal period of time and gets tired very easily you should definitely be concerned.

• Dressing behavior

Another sign is their actual acting and dressing behavior, normally kids feel when they’re getting fat, mostly girls than boys, but if you notice they start dressing differently, covering themselves and using large clothes, they might be starting to experience low self-esteem that can be related to their weight.

Keep in mind that these signs are not noticeable unless you’re really paying attention to your kid. Obviously, everyone can tell when someone has a little more weight than they should but you should be aware in case these types of behaviors happen because that is the best time to take measurements. Don’t wait until your kid is actually obese, start when he’s starting to get overweight.
