You should teach your child values and you should impose discipline whenever you see fit. However, what you should not do is make your child feel guilty – especially in exaggeration.
Saying things like “I work to give you everything you have and you won’t even set up the table” is not the way to go. Your child is not responsible for all the bad things that happen to you, and you can’t use the fact that you carry out with your parental obligations to make them feel bad and guilty for minor misdemeanors.
