#5 – Teach them how to be street smart
Teaching kids how to be street-smart, or streetwise, is a very valuable life skill. Being street smart means having an understanding of the situation and environment a person is in.
Take your kids out with you, show them places, shortcuts, locations of police stations, hospitals, and pharmacies to get to in case of emergency. When your kids learn how to judge a place, person, or situation and make a decision, they become smarter and wiser.
Just make sure to give your kids enough allowance for emergency situations, but not too much otherwise they might not know the value of money and stop showing gratitude!
