#5 – When your kid starts asking for toys at the store
“Let’s put that one on the birthday list, ok?” – Going to the store and have your kid being noisy over a toy they want is something that has happened to any parent. Instead of shutting them down and telling them “NO!”, which can trigger a bad response like crying, you should tell them that, in the future, you can come back and get the toy. If you do come back and get it, remind them of your words – this will build their trust.
