This word is pretty strong when it comes to building trust and a certain sense of emotional safety. While there are some promises that parents shouldn’t make to their children, using the word ‘promise’ the right way can generate plenty of positive feelings, including trust, safety, and dedication.
To formulate promise statements that you can actually keep, you can promise your kids to always love them no matter what, to always listen to what they have to say, and to always consider their feelings and try to understand their perspective.
Promises are precious, especially when they’re written words.
