3. Free Time = Healthy Food

It’s never too late to invest in ourselves and learn something new. Let’s talk about food, for example, most of us complain about how healthy eating is complicated and takes time to prepare when in reality we don’t have the time or rather the patience to do something new. But now, why shouldn’t you invest in a healthy diet? Even if you’re not interested in learning new recipes, you should pay close attention to what you and your kids are eating these days. You are what you eat, and today is the perfect timing for you to become your best version and invest in your better, healthier self. And also, don’t forget that as a parent, it’s your responsibility to raise healthy and happy children!

4. Be Active Together!

No excuse could justify the lack of activity! In case you didn’t know, a children’s behavior might differ depending on how much energy they’re spending per day. Think about it, a kid that runs around and plays a lot is more likely to fall asleep earlier, sleep better and maintain better psychological health than a kid that spends the entire day looking at the TV. Unfortunately, we can’t do much about it now, but what we can do, is make sure our children’s development doesn’t stop, we need to keep them active, learning and overall let them be kids! If you’re used to doing your morning exercises, why not call your kids so they can join you? If they’re not too interested, you can always tell them that vacuuming the floors or cleaning the windows also count as physical exercises. They’ll hop in the yoga matt in a matter of seconds.

5. Less Screen Time More Reading Time

It’s a requirement that you, as a parent, to keep your kids constantly reading and learning new things. It would help if you always encouraged them to spend more time reading books than watching kids’ movies or playing videogames. Even though these are fine, your kid’s entire day shouldn’t be wasted on just that. Children’s books are made for all ages, even for babies to help with toddler development. Yes, that’s a thing! To keep your kid on track, you can even ask them to read a book per month/week, and at the end of the week, they should write a small synopsis about what they read and also explain the book to you or their siblings. This is a great way to work on their writing and prepare them for future oral presentations!
