Then, the babies were handed one more treat to give to the puppet so they could give one away and keep one for themselves. After closely analyzing and studying the toddlers’ behavior as well as their happiness rating, researchers found that the babies felt happier when they shared their own treat than when they’ve kept it to themselves.

The toddlers clearly have a natural desire to give, which indicates that the happiness humans feel when they help one another is an innate part of being human.
