7 Hazardous Toys Your Kids Should Never Play With!

5. Toy guns

Toy guns may look fairly safe or harmless when they can, in fact, cause injury if kids aren’t careful. While water guns are relatively harmless, toy guns that shoot darts are not, and since kids aren’t aware of the dangers that close distance shooting can pose on the kids they’re playing with, they may shoot randomly and hurt them. When summer break rolls around and your kids start nagging you to buy them toy guns, opt for water guns which they can safely play with in the yard or at the beach, and if they already have other potentially harmful toy guns that they love to play with, make sure to make them wear protective gear like protective glasses, etc. Though toy guns are considered aggressive toys, since they’re inspired by real guns, small kids aren’t usually conscious of that concept. However, if you notice that your kids are using just about anything as a weapon to harm their peers, you must take action and seek professional help.

4. Slip & Slide games

Slip & Slide toys, also known as Slip N’ Slide, are fun and everything, but they’re also potentially dangerous. This summertime toy is all about water, slipping, sliding, and, of course, landing either on a grassy ground or pool. Thanks to that, several cases of bone fractures, neck, head, back injuries, and even paralysis have been reported. Though these cases involve teens and adults more than children, because of the added weight, there is still a risk that kids may hurt themselves while playing on these waterslides. Make sure that your kids’ Slip N’ Slides aren’t very tall and that they have a continuous water source that keeps them lubricated to prevent injury.

3. Toy crossbow

Obviously, this toy is dangerous and should not be a part of your kids’ toy collection! These toys that launch items like toothpicks, needles, etc., have become a trend among school children lately, and though they may look small (since they’re pocket-sized), they can easily injure kids. Some of the serious injuries that toy crossbows can affect the eyes, ears, face, etc. Toy crossbows have been found to easily pierce a can from 60 feet away, so imagine what it could do to your kids. Be watchful and make sure that your kids aren’t using any such toys at home or school.
